It’s The Holiday Season – Episode 44

What a way to kick-off the holidays!  We went bold, we went big, we went with Cabernet Sauvignon.  Looking to give the gift of wine this year?  We have two great candidates, both made locally!  Cab Sauvs tend to have a lot of personality, but who knew they could inspire Hobbits?  Oh yes, on the eve of another Hobbit movie, one panelist takes us to the shire for one of the more interesting comparisons we’ve ever featured.  The wine was delicious, and so were this episode’s Twitter hash tags:

WINE FEATURED IN THIS EPISODE:  To make it easier for you to follow along and make a few notes, we’re going to tell you something the panelists NEVER know until they pick their favorites…the names of the wines, and which is number one, and which is number two…

1.————2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Desert Wind Winery, Dundee OR

2.———–2010 Steak House, Original House Wine, Walla Walla WA

PANELISTS:  We’re joined this time by regular favorites Travis Mayfield of Sinclair Broadcasting and Marina Rockinger of Star 101.5 in Seattle.  Our good friend Jane Shannon of KOMO Newsradio is back, as is the very accomodating Andrew Januik of Novelty Hill Januik.

FILMING LOCATION:  We’re in the heart of Woodinville Wine Country.   Talk about a beautiful place, we’re at the incomparable Novelty Hill Januik tasting room, in their beautiful private room (it’s available for your next party!)  Thanks so much to everyone at Novelty Hill Januik who made this such a great night of filming!

THANKS FOR WATCHING!  Be sure to share this episode with your other wine-drinking friends.  We release new episodes EVERY Thursday during the course of our season.  And keep in mind if you’d like to be introduced to the great liquor and beer being made in the Northwest, we have siblings for that!  Be sure to check out both Northwest Beer Night and Northwest Liquor Night.

The next new episode of Northwest Wine Night will premiere right here on the website Thursday, December 12th.
