Northwest Wine Radio – “A Frenchman In The Wild West” (ep183)

(2017) Why would a winemaker from France choose to move to the Pacific Northwest?  We ask that very question to the man behind Domaine Divio of Newberg!  And his answer, and accent, are both certainly charming.

We also visit with a man who has a French name, but is all West Coast!  The couple behind Auclair Winery join us to talk about how his passion for wine making at home turned the corner into a full-fledged operation.  And finally, we’re going to school for some spirits!  A first-ever event at Bothell, Washington’s historic Anderson School will feature some really great local spirits.  Don’t worry, in this case, you won’t get sent to the principal’s office for drinking!

All this, plus Master of Wine Bob Betz of Betz Family Winery stops by to answer our wine questions, Justin Stiefel of Heritage Distilling Company mixes-up our “Drink of the Week.” and Chef Kathy Casey joins us with a fun food pairing featuring wine, craft beer, and spirits!
